Edelbrock #3713 TBI intake manifold

Will the EGR valve mounting location on an Edelbrock #3713 TBI intake manifold fit without conflict with the A/C compressor?
The EGR valve on the Edelbrock manifold is conviently mounted on theright front and appears it may be in conflict with the A/C compressor.

Probably would be a good question to ask Edelbrock tech support. From the information I found it does support vehicles with A/C, but I would definitely be giving a call to Edelbrock tech support. They have always had the answers I have needed in the past.

Thanks..Following your advice, I sent Edelbrock Tech Support ane-mail with this question and I hope I can get an unbiased answer from the people that make and sell the manifold.

May I ask why you think you need to spend that much replacing something that works perfectly fine? IMO you'd be better off with a cam on these motors as the factory intakes are designed pretty well.

I am notseeking more performance b y installing anEdelbrock intake manifold.
Mystock TBI intake manifold is stopped up with carbon and the SES light throws a Code 32 at sustained speeds over70 MPH. I realize that I can remove the stock intake manifold and clean it and the Edelbrock TBI intake is only slightlybetter than a stock intake as for as performance enhancement,but at leastI will not have to remove the intake to properly clean the EGR ports again since the Edelbrock #3713 TBI intake manfold has the provision for the EGR valveconviently located in front ifit stops upagain before I can install a freshcrate engine.
When I have$2000 to spare so I can purchase a GMno balance shaft crate engine (GM-12361234)I will internally balance that engineand install 2.05" intake valves,screw-in rocker studs, Comp CamsHigh Energy roller lifters, GM-10134321 street and marine cam,Melling high volume oil pump and 3/4" pick up. That will run the total cost of the new installation up to about $3100.

I found information on various web-stores that sell this manifold that it supports A/C cars. Also found a few threads on other forums stating that it is a direct replacement for the GM manifold.. Biggest complaint I read about wasthat none of the bolt holes seemed to be tapped deep enough for the stock hardware. Something you might want to check if end up going this route.
The other option (which I'm sure you have checked into) is to pick up a used stock manifold for cheaper and bank the extra money for your performance build later. There is one on ebay right now for $45 + 16 s&h.

I found an intake manifold at a salvage yard for $75 plus .08% tax and$15 worth of gasoline but the e-bay item is a little cheaper. However, after weighing the options, I decided to remove the EGR valve from my present manifold, get about 14" length of old speedometer cable and chuck it firmly in a varible speed drill and break up the carbon deposits inthe EGR ports of my present manifold.Similar to the action of a plumber's sewer-snake. I will then get my shop vacuum and suck out the debris and reinstall the EGR valve. That should eliminate code 32 until I can install the fresh engine. That is cheaper and quickerthan changing manifolds.

i dont know about you guys but i spent $1,100 rebuilding my motor in my 91 thourally cleang deburingmosty useing a dremel w/a flex shaft (and a very good machiest) my ride runs better than new and gets great mpg city and highway its great!
