Default Exhaust help

Hello all I am looking to put an exhaust on my truck from the cat back(for legal reasons). To double check the first picture the bigger object is the cat correct and what is the second photo then? Next questions I was wondering if it is possible to do a duel out exhaust from the car and how hard is it, along with sound? What I mean is a single inlet with a double outlet exhaust. I would love to have them both coming out the back split. Also what size is the stock exhaust pipe on the truck so I can make sure to properly put it. I am fine with removing spare tire as I am getting new wheels anyway, biggest thing is making sure this is doable. Also would just going to auto zone and getting the pipes work for this or would I have to do something else?

They're both cats. Your back one looks like it has three bolts in it, mine only has two. Can't help you with any of the other questions.

Assuming it's the 4.3 V6 a dual exhaust split after the cat does sound weird and silly. Also routing on the blazer is a problem, as you cannot properly cross over to the drivers side after the cat. Too many bends as well. Just go for the stock. Not worth the hassle with a pathetic 4.3 V6 to want "exhaust sound". Several posters liked the superflow exhausts. Might get it a nice deep sound profile.

Not exactly "legal" but my solution was a gutted converter after it stopped up after 210k miles, and a Flowmaster 40 to replace the original rusted out muffler. The rest of the piping is all stock. Gave it a nice deep rumble at idle, the V6 tone really comes out above 2k, but there's nothing you can do about that other than add a couple more cylinders under the hood

How’s the noise level sound from inside? Any drone?

I've been happy with my Dynomax bolt-on cat-back system. I even had an avid Subaru guy say that he liked the exhaust sound. This I am told means something because the Subaru-Bros are supposedly connoisseurs of exhaust sounds due to the unique sound of the boxer engines in their Foresters etc.

I would describe the sound as a respectable but not ostentatious deeper sounding rounded rumble. A friend with a Silverado gives a hard time about my "American Iron" sound. LOL

After 10 years and 150,000 miles the US EPA does not require cat converters. That was the word about 8 years ago when I built a total system for my 95 S10.

That was US. I dont know about your State.

I had a muffler shop make a box of one foot sections of pipe with bends from 5 to 80 degrees and used them to lay out a totally new system. It was a bit of work but turned out nicely. The y pipe wasnt available and had to weld in a O2 sensor bung but it wasn't too bad of a job.

That's one I've never heard before. I'd like to see some documentation on that.
