Well I got my exhaust done. Bought a new 2-1/4" inlet/outlet glasspack from bumper to bumper. Brought it to a muffler shop and he "Y'd" it right off the glasspack and then ran 2-1/4" pipe straight out the back. Will get pics up hopefully soon. My computer Is acting up.

Hope it's a long muffler. Shorter ones droaaaaal a lot. Longer & fatter = deeper sound.
Sounds bounce back too fast & make a short muffler sound like an amplified baby in diapers fart.
A long muffler is more like grandpa letting one rip to teach you a lesson in fartology, long, low & deep.

But I have to say my flow 10 sounds great! It's the shortest muffler they make and it is pretty loud but a deep loud. It doesn't even really drone that much. Just sounds like pure schmexiness! I should put up a video clip soon lol.

Headers on our 4.3's would be for sound & not much more. Well for a naturally asperated stock 4.3. If the heads were done, intake, cam etc then they would make a noticable difference.
The headers I've seen the best notes about are JBL Ceramic Shorty Headers $500 give or take.

I would paint the hangars with some rust proof paint, wins. Is just like michigan salt and snow will rust those straps fast

well I came into this thread looking for ideas to tame the obnoxious noise that a Flowmaster muffler makes. I just bought my 98 zr2 a few days ago and was told that it was a flowmaster super 40 ... well it sounds like *** in my opinion. Idle has a slight quiet v8 rumble hit the gas and it sounds like rice.

I feel like a halfwit diving with it like this previous owner buggered welds all over the exhaust mismatched pipe sizes and such but I give it up it is sealed tight. I guess I will source a dynomax 3 chamber or the like to tone her down. I will take a video and post later tonight when I have time.
