I want a nice sound. 91 s10 Blazer
I have a 1991 Chevrolet S10 Blazer. It has the 4.3L TBI V6. I was really looking to get a louder deeper sounding exhaust. A friend of mine sold me a Flowmaster Super 44 muffler. Thinking this would get the results I wanted, I had the stock muffler removed, and this one welded in. It makes a little bit of a difference, but nothing to noticeable. My question is, if I gut the catalytic converter, will it sound louder/nicer? Or will it just sound like a crappy failing exhaust. As it is my exhaust is all stock aside from the Flowmaster Muffler. I don't require a catalytic converter, because in my state if your vehicle is older then a 1997 it doesn't need to pass emissions. I also was under the impression that most vehicles post 1994 you shouldn't mess with the cat, because there's an o2 sensor behind it, and it messes with the on board computer. Pre 1994, they only have an o2 sensor in front.
Tl;dr: If I gut the catalytic converter on my '91 S10 Blazer, 4.3 L TBI V6, will it sound like crap/ have ill effects on performance, or the engine.

My stepdads blazer sounds better with a cat,i dont have one.
You need to get a 40 series if you wanna make some noise. 44's are great for someone who wants a little more then oem.
