Default Offset Muffler

Is there any advantages/disadvantages to having an offset inlet on a muffler or is it just for positioning?

Yep, the original muffler on a S10 Blazer has aoutlet that is positioned to the LH(driver's) sideof the muffler in order toclear therear crossmember to the RH frame attachment. Many aftermarket mufflers for the S10 Blazers sometimes have the exhaust outlet positioned in the center on the muffler but they can still barely clear the rear crossmember to RH frame attachment. I was looking at that a couple of days ago to see how difficult it would be to install a dual outlet muffler and dual tailpipeson my 1991 S10 Blazer SUV.

I decided it was not worth the effort .
