Proven Solution for exhuast?

ok guys i know this has been talked about alot but bare with me. I have a 2000 2dr 4wd blazer, the inside of my cat rusted out and would sit and rattle and drove me crazy so, i cut it out and put a piece of 2 1/2 straight pipe in, now the service engine light comes on i checked the codes, there is a code for the left bank 02 sensor and one for the right. I am not suprised this happened but i figured i would give it a shot it only cost me 13 bucks for pipe and clamps. Now what i wanna know is does any one know of a high flow cat and cat back exhaust combo that will work for my blazer and not effect the o2 sensors. I am looking for something that someone has already proven to work. for the cat back set up i am looking at the dynomax 19331 possibly but i have to look into what i'll have to do to cut it down to fit a 2 door, if the the only difference between the 2 and 4 dr exhuast is the length after the muffler it wouldnt be a problem

Agree. I dont know how familiar you are with the different type of muffler sounds but check out youtube and go from there also. Get the high flow cat and then the muffler of choice and have a shop custom bend the pipe and install it for you. Probally your best bet and cheaper

I think the 44 is too loud for me, plus do either of you know it will work? The diameter of the pipe and the difference in the bends can make a big difference how do you know it wont trigger o2 sensor codes. that's why i wanted to find a high flow cat and cat back combo that someone has used because the pipe diameter and bends will be the exact same. Thanks for the advise but that's not quite what i was looking for.

The magnaflow catco cats are pretty good. Just register for the lifetime warranty and you'll be good. If it does throw a code (I've only heard of few cases where it did) then use an O2 fouler. For loudness, check out the Edelbrock SDT muffler on youtube. Sounds awesome. And the only difference is the length of the pipe on teh catback by Dynomax.

The size of the pipe and the bends has nothing to do with emissions/throwing codes

About what RPM level were you revving to at the end of the video? Sounds good.

RebelJimmy96 05-12-2010 12:56 AM

between 2000-3000

PaulO2288 05-12-2010 12:10 PM

I have a Flowmster 40 with 2.5" Pipeing to a 3" Tip and it sounds the same but mine pops more :-) but i wish i could have gotten any place do to dual out like that. I tired so many places and they said they couldent do it and it sucks. How much did you pay?

RebelJimmy96 05-12-2010 05:44 PM

none i work there from time to time just payed for the pipes.
if u want i can bend yall up the same set up for you . just let me kno if urs is lifted or is a 4 or 2 door. it will run around $85.00 for y pipe and 2 1/2 pipes mandrel bent plus shipping can make it where u just clamp it or weld them together labeled a to a and b to b.
we are the only shop in Arkansas that i know of that is specialists in hard to fit systems like the blazers
like the slogan says "No MUFF TO TUFF"
i also can use stainless pipe that is more money tho

the trick is the Magnaflow high flow cat to rid your system of that pop and mandrel bent pipes instead of crushed bent
also alot of carbon in system will make it pop use sea foam and make sure ur trucks not running rich that unused gas is popping

kickme005 05-12-2010 06:53 PM

what if you cut out the cat and judt put a straight pipe in

Its not that its bad for your truck, its purely illegal unless its stricly an offroad truck or race car track wise.
