Default REVIEW: K&N Cold Air Intake (2004 Blazer)

Install: 2004 Blazer - K&N Cold Air Intake w/heat shield

-Difficulty: 1 out of 5.
-Time: About 90mins with constant interruptions (texting).
-Tools: Requires drilling (need a drill w/drill bit) and calls for 7/32 socket, which I didn't have. My 8mm did just fine, though.

Benefits

-Estimated horsepower gain: 7.42 HP @ 4672 RPM (156.64hp to 164.06hp)
-Estimated torque gain: 8.29 ft-lbs @ 4672 (176.11 ft-lbs to 184 ft-lbs)
-Better fuel economy: Before install, I got 190 - 210 miles per tank depending on throttle aggressiveness. I will be reporting back with my new findings.

Here is a general product page (I purchased from www.ZMRmodifications.com): K&N CAI w/heat shield

I like it and highly recommend it! It sounds pretty beast while driving. It drives the same with my 125lb gf in the rig as it did stock and by myself.

Thanks! No problem. I thought it might help someone in the future as reviews/sound clips have always helped me.

Thanks!!

I was thinking of buying a used K&N a little while back but unfortunately college and life got in the way!

Like the way that thing sounds though, definitely will make people wonder what's going on under the hood.

I think that thing is really cool, how much horse power did it bring, and how much was it?

When you can, I'd definitely recommend that you pick one up. By the way, I'll be PMing you about your front bars

Theoretically...

If you go this route, though, look into an AEM Dryflow air filter. Not only is AEM owned by K&N but is also said to be a better filter. It's oil-free, easy to clean with a life-time warranty. Here's a link for reference:

AEM Air Filters, AEM Replacement Air Intake Filters, AEM Filters
