Default Thinking about buying some headers

Well I bought some but I got sent exhaust pipe instead... so I'm returning those soon and going somewhere else.

I want to get the first hand from y'all of what I should get. I'm thinking Shorties to give me the torque I need. I was wondering if y'all have particular brands or even an exact system that is good for the buck. Remember I've got an 88 K5 with the gas 350 5.7L.

The 79 has Dynomax on them... just thought I'd let y'all know lol.

And any opinions y'all have on mufflers would be nice too. One of my glasspacks has a hole in them from my idiot dad who decided he was gonna take a blow torch to it and then hit it with a pipe wrench... long story.

What kind of seller would ship you exhaust pipe instead of headers? That doesn't make sense.
Your 'idiot' dad was just doing an old trick to blow out the guts from a glasspack. Another method is to get it hot and hit it with a solid spray of cold water. Well known methods from back in the days of glass packs.
BTW, I am a fan of Flowmaster mufflers, but others will have their own opinions.

No, he was trying to get the muffler to come unattached from the Cat... but instead he put a hole in it... so I took over. I can't let him do anything. He broke all the hangers for my exhaust somehow... and who has to buy new ones... me.

Anyway, I guess they were discontinuing the headers... and grabbed the wrong order... I don't know. But I'm getting a full refund so that's all that matters.

Yeah I heard you could punch glasspacks like that... my neighbor was tellin me that a couple weeks ago.

I'm a fan of headman headers, and flowmasters. I have that set up on both my blazer and my v8 dime.

Well Hedman doesn't seem to carry Shorty "Hedders" for my truck. So that knocks that down.
