OK... so talking with my mechanic... he has put 2in body lifts on... but told me that if I were to do that and put bigger tires on i would be F***ing myself and just ruining my truck...

I put my bl on last year and can't believed I waited so long to do it. Hands down the best the best mod I've done.

As far as engine cooling, if you buy a kit with everything you need, vice just blocks and bolts, the kit will come with spacers for the fan shroud.

As far as steering, some people need to elongate the bolt holes in the firewall to drop the steering column about a 1/4 of an inch. I know of only one or two that have had to do this. Luckily, I didn't have to.

As far as installing a bl being the worst thing one can do, I'd be looking for another mechanic. There is only one reason people lift a vehicle and that is to put bigger tires on. The cheapest, and safe, way to do this is a bl. Using a proper kit rather than hockey pucks will not alter the safety of your vehicle, other than a slightly higher center of gravity.

It does not effect the suspension in any way, does not cause improper wear on front end parts, does not effect the drive train in any way.

I still do not understand why some folks are against body lifts. I can understand if you want to put a 10" bl on (yes, I've seen them) but there are no ill effects to a 2-3" bl if done correctly.

Everyone has there own opinion. You might have a different one but honestly yes I think it would look stupid... You should get meatier tires if your going to lift it at all. Hell I would get meatier tires even without a lift but I just hate the way stock tires look.

A body lift without bigger tires is a little redundant IMO. The reason body lifts are available is to be able to make room for the bigger tires. If you put the BL on, and don't change tires you really don't gain anything. Why bother with a body lift then?

without a body lift the biggest tire you can get is a 30/9.5/15, with the body kit a 31/10.50/15 would fit really nice. With you currently having 215/70's, a 30/9.50/15 would probably make you pretty happy, plus once you get your BL on there they will still look pretty decent. If you have they money ready for tires now, try some Procomp all terrains, they are on sale buy 3 get 4th free, so it will save you a little bit of money. My bridgestone deulers a/t ran about $560 or so, I love them. In the snow I actually had to put it in 2 wheel drive just to have some fun, and they were still gripping pretty good.

Just dont get something that is a beefed up mudder if its your daily driver and you driver it on the highway, because they arent going to last very long, go with a beefy all terrain tire, hope this helps.
