I did put a roll pan on it but since it didn't come that way factory i got a $200 fine + court costs. One of those stupid laws that makes no sense imo but what can you do? just hate to see someone else in the same position hence the advice to check first better safe than sorry.

Yeah some states are rediculas about the whole" from the factory" laws. I was talking to a guy that had a wrangler. Put the 16 inch, 265-70 tires and flares from a rubicon on it. And even though these are factory for the rubicon, since he had a wrangler he was required to get a modified inspection.

Although I have thought about a rollpan. I've seen one other lifted first gen around here and I can never get his attention to talk to him! But he has a rollpan notched to fit over the frame ends. But I can never find a rollpan for the first gen that looks good. Then agian, I could probley just bolt/weld it to fit...

But as for the lift, don't worry about it. As long as you retain your sway bars, it won't even "feel" top heavy really. Only thing is that on the 1st gens espically with a lift and bigger tires, strong winds and following behind 18 wheelers and such will kinda push your truck around. I've got about 4.5 inch of lift and 32's and I have to strong arm the steering wheel sometimes. But it's not too bad. Plus having the awesome truck in the parking lot makes up for it. :icon_drool:
