im looking at a 2 inch bodylift for my 97 jimmy and was wondering if there were any things i need to do besides put in the new mounts and what not
its 4wd with the shifter on the floor(auto)

 

With 2 more inches in height you will have to modify the fan shroud so that the fan will work. Or better yet find a E-fan setup then you can remove the clutch-fan.

There will be gaps between the frame that were not there before changing some of the dynamics of cooling...then you will have to think about the bumper heights...

with a 1 inch lift do i need to worry about the steering column, trans linkage, or wiring harness?

 

hey i just did a 3" body lift for my 91 blazer .. and what i noticed from my application is that 1 if u have a remote oil filter setup you have to a splice the line and extend them or get some longer bolts and extend the oil filter 2 inches away from the fender (which i did) then you for sure have to extend your big bottom radator line and extend your transmission cooling lines... and the worst thing that i found to do was extending my gasoline down spout into the tank which wasnt hard at all but i was freaked out about getting dirt and sh*t in there so i would recommend a sandwhich baggy around the insert of the tank and a ziptie around it so that it doesnt fall off . oh and if you have an automatic you will have to extend your shifter linkage where u have to cut and weld a extention in( pain in the *** but check and fit u angles b4 u do your final weld) oh and for your 4 wheel drive shifter y uo will need to remove the boot and unscrew it a little bit and to get the length you need to get it to operate and make sure b4 u put it back together that is shift into all position) hoped that helped a lil

 

I had to do all that on my old 3/4 ton too. Luckily the newer blazers ('95+) have a shifter cable instead of linkage and an encoder motor on the transfercase. So nothing will need to be extended there.
The kit should come with new bumper brackets. And to fill the wheel well gaps, you can either get creative or go to synergy offroad.

 

thanks guys mines a 97 so i have the shifter cable and encoder motor. does anything need to be done as far as the steering?

 

the steering should lengthen by its self, watch the cb boot that is on it. but i could be wrong
