Coil over thoughts???

Default Coil over thoughts???

What do your guys think bout coil overs. I know coil overs work in jeeps for lifts but what about in my 99 jimmy?

As part of a SAS, they'd be great! For the IFS, not so good.

sas= Solid axle swap (for the front of the vehicle)
IFS= Independent front suspension. i.e. what you have right now.

You won't be able to use coil overs with your current setup. Your truck uses torsion bars to gain its height. That being said I have seen people instal coil overs in place of there shocks and remove tbars but I have not seen any long term reviews on it and personally don't think I would trust it since those points are not designed to hold the weight of the truck.

I think it could be done well with stronger lower control arms and reinforced shock mount. Would be a completely custom job though cause noone makes stronger lower control arms

Thanks for your inputs! Im not fimiliar much with the coil overs, which is why im asking. I just know it worked in my old jeep.
