so im still thinking about lifting my blazer but i dont want to spend a whole boatload of money, i dont really want to crank my torsion bars either beacuse once this is lifted it will still be my DD and i think that a 6" lift is 1) WAY WAY WAY too big for what i need and 2) WAY WAY too much money...i want to get the best bang for my buck, what would y'all suggest. ive thought about 3" add a leaf, 3" BL and 3" shackles but i dont know how much that would set me back and also i dont know what i would need to do to accomplist that...you've got to keep in mind im only 17 and i have VERY limited resources...such as no lift and litterally no experience with the whole lifting of a vehicle.. some other things ice though about are a 2.5" suspension lift 3" body lift "2-3" add a leaf and 2-3" shackles....like i said before im new with the whole lifting idea and was wondering what would be the best way to go about doing this..any help??

thanks y'all

All of those wouldn't lift the front at all. The 3" add-a-leaf and 3" shackle put a total of ~6" into the rear without doing anything to the front. This would be a bad idea.

I guess the most important problem is what do you want to accomplish through lifting?

i want better ground clearance, to be able to run bigger tires possibly 31-33's without rubbing, to be able to go pretty much wherever i please, to be able to drivethrough the valley(near my house, it floods every spring...like2-3feet of water)and i want the all around bad a$$ lifted look and eventually im going to get a brush guard and off roading lights....so what would i need to do to accomplish the lifted look..?

right now i have the fabtech 2.5 spindle and 2" add a leaf also a 2" body depending on the year of your car i dont think they make a 3". and i probably could fit 31s on there if i ran 15x8s. and altogether i spent less than 1000. also if you use the add a leaf and the shackle what else would you use for the front if youre only going to use the spindle? your cars gonna be rear end higher.

blazerboy: is your truck 4wd? you seem to have left that out of your signature.

not sure about 2wd but on 4wd you can lift the front approx 2" with the torsion bars which is as simple as turning two bolts but it causes increased wear on the front end. so you have to keep an eye on it and check it for signs of damage a lot more often

also, your sig says youve got underdrive pulleys. did those give you and noticeable increase in power and/or fuel efficiency?

i think from what others say if you go 2.5 suspension lift then you want to do a 2 inch body lift then i believe someone correct me if im wrong i think you can run 31's just fine if not maybe a lil bigger

Rough Country Website

Includes:
Front upper control arms, torsion bar adjuster keys, front shock relocation brackets, polyurethane bushings, 4 RC Hydro 8000 series shocks, and rear lift shackles.
I'm not tryong to shoot your ideas down the drain but the Rough country kit uses new torsion bar keys which will do the exact same thing as cranking them yourself and it uses rear lift shackles and you can purchase those from plenty of other places.
