First post + noob question.
New to the forum, looks like an awesome place for some good info and conversation. I just get a new to me 01 4dr 4wd for a slammin deal and got out of my truck note at the same time. Im stoked to finally be in another 4 wheel drive and want to start to get some height on it. I noticed that my drivers side front tire inside tread pattern is near bald. That coupled with a slightly cocked steering wheel and slight pull to the right hints toward alignment time. Before I take it in, I am going to do the Tbar crank. I figure if I can do that today or tomorrow, then I can get it in for an alignment soon after, a required function after the crank. I will put a set of shackles on order so hopefully they will show up to follow the alignment.
Questions -
1. Would you re-align after shackles or only after Tbar Crank?
2. I see all kinds of different shackles. I could but dont really have time to make a set myself. Full time and starting a business on the side keeps me pretty busy. So, whats a good set?? I have seen guys on here making and selling, are they still doing this??

I would do it all at once (t-bar crank & shackles) then get the alignment, but the t-bar crank has much more of an impact on alignment. Just don't go too far with the t-bar crank.
I suggest you get to the bottom of why the tires wore like they did before getting an alignment. Check out all of the suspension components (bushings, inner/outer tie rods, pitman/idler arms, etc before you go in just to make sure that there isn't something worn that caused the problem in the first place.

Roger that, thanks! On the subject of Shackles, is there anyone around here making a solid set for a good price or should I head to Ebay??
Judging by the front end of the Blazer, it was definately popped in the mouth at some point in its life. Cracked headlight mounts (bouncy) , slightly dipped front bumper, non oem hood, etc. Its in really nice shape and drives really well though. (SOOOOOOO much nicer than my full size truck.) I can actually negotiate drive thrus!!! The small stuff I can take care of. Ill get under her and check it out closer. Tie rod and others would make sense to look at.
Thanks again Swart
