"all the Cutting"? Yes, the front diff needs to be cut if that's what you are talking about.

Everything went as per the Rough Country instructions with the exception of removing the steering components.

It's all fairly straight forward, just time consuming.

 

Took me a week to do it. Hardest part was getting the diff out IMO

Great write up! I'll be installing the kit this weekend. Definately helpful and I actually like these instructions better than RC's. Between your's and their's I should be set and hopefully able to knock it out in around 12 hours, pretty much solo. Thankfully I have a nice fully equiped garage to use (thanks to my grandfather, the car nut). For what it's worth, disconnecting the front axle actuator was not necessary, that's in RC's instructions now. Anyway, thanks a lot for this write up, much appreciated. Any other tips or advice would be great. Pictures coming soon!

 

Yeah I noted that in the write up that it says it's not required, but I still don't get why.

It's attached to the front axle, and the front axle has to come out, so how can you leave it attached? Unless there's another way of disconnecting it from the axle?

 

do you have pics of the 1/4 " bump spacers you made? mine is binding pretty bad when rough on it in 4wd. maybe this could help me. another question did you have any problems with tightening the upper control arm bolts , mine dont want to tighten enough to keep it aligned i have had it aligned twice and just last night screwing around in the snow to rough on it and its all out of wack lol i ordered new cam bolts hoping that it takes care of the issue but any ideas or suggestions would help

He has had to have it aligned a couple times, but it see's a fair bit of abuse wheeling.


I have heard of guys tack welding the alignment disks after they have it aligned to help keep them in the right spot..

I have yet to wheel mine with the economy lift due to my 4wd not working but I've had this lift for about 4 months now and my pass side cv o's torn to ****.. and this is just normal highway driving .. i noticed it sits awfully close to the shock and I belive that's wat tore it up

Wat do u mean proper height? I had mechanic install the lift because I didn't Have the space to do it myself so. How can I check if it's at proper height before I go to autozone and get a replacement cv
