Lifting the Jimmy
Hello, im a proud owner of my 96 jimmy and im looking for an inexpesive way of lifting it. The truck at the moment dosnt look like its stock height, but i currently have 31" tires on it and it rubs. if anyone has any budget suggestions please let me know... thx in advance

a tbar crank and shackles would be the cheapest route, but youll still rub with 31's. if you do not wanna rub i would suggest a 2" body lift.
#3
Yep, a 2" body lift is definitely the way to go.
#4
cool, thanks... got another question... if i do the 2" body lift, do i have to change any suspension components or shocks???
#5
nope with a body lift your suspension is totally unaffected.
#6
and realisticly how hard is the body lift..

Not trying to hijack your thread but where would you guys recomend purchasing a 2" lift from?
I know the OP has a jimmy, it would be the same kit for a blazer yea?

I haven't yet done a body lift but many people say they're more time-consuming than difficult. Unscrewing all the stock bolts and jacking one side of the body up. Jack the other side up and then reattach everything.

4wheelparts and summit racing both sell the kit as far as I know.
Yes the same kit would work for both a GMC and a Chevy

Thanks for the swift reply
If my blazer is only 2wd...would it be stupid of me to lift it?
