Need a LIFT.
Im new here, and just need a few questions answered. I have a stock 1999 blazer LT, it has the 15" wheels on it. I want to know if i can fit 31/10.5 R15 on my stock rims, also can i get just shackles and torsion keys to lift my truck to fit those tires on it, if not what will i need to do just to fit 31" tires on it. I dont get a lot of money to spend on my truck because my wife says we can spend it on other things then my dumb truck, but she just doesnt understand. Any help would be great, i dont want to spend money then turn around and have it not work. Thanks
next time use the search feature
but, to fit 31's you need at least 2 inches of lift, unless you have a zr2 where 31's are stock
assuming you have a 4x4 with ifs
to achieve this 2 inch lift, you can crank the t-bars to a max of 1.5 to 2 inches, with 2 inch shackles, or add a leafs. but remember as you crank your t-bars, your ride will get stiffer and you will wear out cv's and ball joints faster because of the extreme angles. but an alternative most people do is a body lift, you can get these for around 250 bucks and you can install them in your driveway. or you can do a combination of these to get about 4 inches of lift plus the 1.5 inches from the larger tires, assuming you have 28's now. and tortion keys just make it so you can crank your t bars more. like if you have 10 threads showing now on the bolt, once you install the keys you will still have 10 threads showing but will have 1 inch of lift. but it doesnt avoid the wear issue.
if you have a 2wd truck, you have more, and cheaper options. with 2wd, you can get bigger springs and shocks, and add a leafs and a body lift. there might be more you can do, i dont know alot about 2wd cars lol
