I have a question that no one really asks when putting on a taller shackle kit. I know that when you install new bushings on suspensions, you have snug the bolt only while the truck is still lifted in the air and then do the final tighting and torquing of the bolts on level ground with the weight of the truck on the suspension so you do not preload the rubber bushings. so now when you put a longer shackle kit, do go to the front of the leaf spring eye bolt and loosen and re-tighten that bolt on level ground to remove any preload from the new shackle kit since the leaf spring has been moved to raise the truck?

I had to replace all 4 of my rear spring bushings when me and my friend did my shackles and we tightened them in the air. Didn't touch the front bushing. Worked out fine the way we did it.

Never heard of doing it, and never seen any negative side effects from not doing that. But that is a thought that never crossed my mind, good thought.

yeah if you look closely, you will notice that there is teeth on the sides of the bushings so that they can lock in place once tightened....
