Spacers and blocks?
i have a 2 wheel drive, 2 door, 2004 blazer... and i want it to sit just a little higher. since its only 2wd, i do not want to put a lift kit on it. i just want it to go up an inch or 1.5", just to clear bigger tires... and look a little better. whats the cheapest way to do that? i have heard blocks in the back and "coil spacers?" in the front. but then the spacers have been said to be expensive. i wont be doing any off roading... so any cheap ideas?
I've heard coil spacers are not a good idea, and as far as blocks go, if your 2 wheel drive is like my four wheel, then its spring under axle, meaning blocks will actually lower it. For the back you can do like I did on mine and go to advance or autozone and get a set of the cheapo 16 dollar shackles which will give you just a hair over 2 in of lift, not too sure about the front though, maybe somebody will chime in.
I have a 2wd and have done every lift possible to get mine up. currently im running 33's on a 6.5" fabtech lift and a 2" body lift. For the 2wd spacers that go over the coil you will not see much lift, only 1", ive done them before if you look in my album. Blazer's cannot do blocks in the back because you have to do an axle flip because the leaf srping is under the axle not on top like most trucks. by putting the leaf spring on top of the axle you will get about a 4" lift but you will need longer shocks and longer sway bar links along with the axle flip conversion kit. The best way to lift the rear would be lift shackles they have them at most automotive stores, well they do in florida at least. and you can get the rubber boot looking coil spacer at most automotive stores to and those are simple you just put above or below the coil, I have put two coil spacers to one coil once and got a 2'' lift out of it. put one on top of the coil and one on the bottom of the coil, you have to drop the lower a frame to wedge it up in there but it works. the coil spacers from the store are 9bucks a peice. so around 40 bucks you can lift the front 2''. But the best way to lift a 2wd is just get a 2'' body lift for 200 bucks from performance accessories if you want the most clearance for bigger tires. What size tires are you wanting to run?

i dont really know. and as for right now i am getting new rims, but not tires until i need them. but the 2004 2 dr look to sit kinda low. so for right now i just want to up it a little bit. then maybe clear 29's or possibly 30's. for now could i turn the torsions?
Oh I see. Well if you get the 2" body lift and the coil spacers you will clear 31"s all day. I rode around for 6 months like that and offroad and never rubbed without cutting any wheel wells. But if you have coils you do not have torsion bars so you can't crank them. Best bet if you just want to clear 30''s is go to advanced auto parts or autozone and find their polyurethane coil spacers they look like little donuts and get 4 of them and put two to each coil. Then while your there get the shacke lift kit and its like 30bucks. You can choose on the shackle which lift you want you can do 1",2", or 3" lift if your shocks are long enough, I just did 2" when i put mine on. It's a pretty simple install, it's a matter of 4 bolts, and you need a floor jack.
I have a 2wd also and went with spacers up front, shackles in back, and 30x9.50 BFG's. While it's not a huge amount of lift, it's definitely a noticeable difference from before. We did have to do a little trimming in the fender well to keep the tires from rubbing on full turn, but it was worth it. Oh, the spacers and shackles cost me about $35 total.
