The rim/wheel is rubbing? What is it rubbing? With your combined lift you should fit 31s on stock wheels with minor rubbing on the frame possible when articulated.

 

Yeah my rim hits the control arm on the drivers side just barely there's scratches in it from it hitting

 

Will 31s fit on 01 blazer with 2.5 in spring spacer and 2 in shackles??

 

Im looking to level or lift my trailblazer a little without any serious modifications I want at a minimum 1" lift 2" max. What do you guys best recommend.

 

Hi, name's Terry and me and my wife just bought a 1996 Blazer. There's a few small problems with it, but we paid a good amount so the problems aren't a big deal so far.

The main and biggest is simply that the tires on it are on 17's (I think) and they rub if we turn the wheel too hard in a turn, it increases the turning radius and after discussing it, we decided that we want to put at least a 6-inch lift on it. Neither of us know anything about the lifts, and aren't comfortable making a decision about it on our own.

So, since most of you seem to know a lot more about them, do you have any advice for us at all? And also, please keep in mind: my wife is 5 months pregnant, so the baby will be riding in this as well, so anything that might make it less safe or anything else, please disregard it, or let us know about it. Hi Terry, if you're looking for a 6" suspension lift the only current option is the Superlift. BDS also makes a 5" suspension lift, and Rough Country is suposedly going to release a 6" lift in the near future. Both lifts will require some welding and work to install, but they do come with semi-adequate instructions. If you're not comfortable with this you could always look into getting a local suspension shop to install it. Check out Warthogdriver's build thread to see his installation of his Superlift.

All of those options are fairly expensive. Do you have a specific need/reason you are wanting to lift 6"? I'm not knocking your desire to lift the truck, just asking to see if there's other options that might suit you better that are less work/costly.

 

well a rule of thumb is the higher you go up the more likely you are to flip so you would have to be more careful and 6 inches higher is going to be a lot harder for you wife to get in and out of the truck .... is it a lot of rubbing or minor because maybe just the 2 inch body lift would suffice to rid you of the rubbing without going excessively higher

 

Yeah, if this is your primary family vehicle, a pregnant wife will not enjoy getting in and out of it. Then it won't be fun getting a baby in and out either. You might be best leaving it as is and find a set of stock wheels and tires.

 

6 inch BDS or 5 inch Trailmaster?

 

I have the BDS 5" lift and like it. I also read about the TrailMaster lift, and didn't like the way the suspension brackets and stuff went together. Also heard that there was play in the front end..
