Default Transfer Case Question

Hello All!!!,

I've been using the search function on the forum for quite a while now and have gotten loads of great info. Thank you to you all. I still have a question regarding the transfer case though. I've seen it stated that the 2" lift for the 2nd Gen. blazers will cause the case to simply sit 2" lower. I have a 1st gen. (1988, 4.3, 700r, np231) and when I got this project it already had a 3" body lift and the drive train was disassembled. Is there any way to raise the case to sit in it's stock location in relation to the body? If not will the floor need modified to accomodate the travel of the shift lever. Thank you for any help and I apologize if this question has been answered in the past I was not able to find it.

All you have to do is take the boot off the 4x4 selector and cut the floor where needed. You can't move the T-case up.

yeah just hack a hole in the floor. way easier and better for the truck then making your driveshaft angle out of wack. if you were to push the transfercase up the engine would be facing downward a bit possibly making the fan smack the shroud

I guess I wasn't thinking about the drive shaft angle and all that. Thanks for the help, I've already had to cut into this floor because it was hacked up pretty bad by the previous owner trying to make it a 5-speed. Have a good holiday!!!
