1985 S-10 Blazer Rear Defrost wires cut short

Default 1985 S-10 Blazer Rear Defrost wires cut short
Got this 85 4 months ago and the previous owner cut rear defroster wires off to only about 2 1/2 - 3 in. What is the best way to reconnect wires back down to the defrost tabs?

when they are snapped off the actual window they sell rear defrost repair kits. if the wire is just cut, probably some solder and shrink wrap over it to protect it if its just a regular type wire
