2000 4.3 blazer has absolutely no power
I bought a 2000 blazer in March, the guy told me it had a blown head gasket. I bought it anyways because of the manual transmission. It sat for 3 years, the fuel pump was shot! I replaced the fuel pump, spark plugs and wires, new battery, new 175 mega fuse. However someone has cut the wires on the alternator plug, and the plug going to the distributor. I have wired them back (assuming the wires are correct by some research). I just ordered a new ignition switch. When I drop the glove box down there is wiring with the one single bolt in th middle beside the fuel safety shut off relay ( I believe that's right). When you reach in there you can wiggle that whole wiring unit. And the blazer will get power for 30 seconds and dead again. Someone please tell me what the hell is wrong with my blazer.

I can help you with this but it may be a little bit of task to figure all this out. If the megafuse was blown then there was a multi hundred amp short which may have done some damage. That and it sounds like there have been multiple hacks on the wiring. I'll stick with you for as long as you want.

- What is the voltage at the battery terminals with everything off?
- Same question when you manually turn on the headlights
- Same question when you try to start the truck
- Pull the Ign A fuse (40A) and tell me what the voltage readings are in both fuse sockets, black meter lead to battery ground

Since it's always dark when I go to work, I cannot test it right now. But I came home yesterday and looked at the starter and the wire was broke coming off of the starter. So I went and bought a new starter, plugged up my battery and...nothing! So I tested it and it was dead. There is a ground somewhere, I knew that. Just finding it is going to be the issue. So my buddy put his battery in it and all of my lights came on. But I still don't know if it will turn over. It hasn't ran in 3 years.
I have a brand new...
battery
Spark plugs and wires
175 amp fuse
Fuel pressure release valve
fuel pump
Fuel filter
Starter
Battery terminals
Tried starting it last night and it's getting spark and fuel to the release valve but it just won't turn over.

- You should perform the fuel pressure test in the sticky and see what the 10 min leak down pressure is.
- If you are above 55 psi on that test then you should eliminate the possibility of bad gas by trying starting fluid
