Whats up fellas hope you all having a good Friday ... Im in a little bit of a dilemna. I currently drive a 2005 2Door Chevy Blazer with no foglights (non ZR-2) I have intensions to purchase some new headlights but alot of the ebay ads are saying these certain Headlights are not compatible with my certain 2005Blazer and only for the 1998-2004 Blazers.
My question is what is the significant difference between the 2004 model and 2005 model? they are so similar looking and look identical so Im begining to think maybe its something deeper as to wiring components or maybe dimensions and measurements of the headlight housings. if someone can let me know it would be greatly appreciated ...

I'm pretty sure that its the books or the data that the light manufacturers use. I believe that the 05 Blazer had a lower number produced and some people say they they were not made in 05 ...this creates the confusion for part catalogues ...they are the same truck....An example I will use is that I have an 05 Jimmy and a lot of the time I call it a Blazer when I'm getting parts because they don't list a Jimmy or say the part is not compatible.

Are you located in Canada (or near), by chance?
I think GM continued to release the Blazer/Jimmy in the Great White North up to 2005, while they pulled the plug on all S-Series in the States in 2004 (to make way for the Colorado, I believe).
I think you'll be fine ordering '98-'04 head lights, as long as it's an S10 Blazer, and not the bigger Trailblazer.

They did produce some 05 blazers is the US , not sure how many. The Jimmy for 04 and 05 was Canada only , and of course they produced Blazers in Canada in 05.
The wiring for a factory type fog lamp setup may be a challenge depending on how you want them to function. To function like factory you would need to program the BCM with a VIN of a blazer with fog lamps and have all the proper connections....To hook them up to a regular universal switch would be alot easier.
