1998 Blazer; V-6 automatic, 4WD; Does anybody have any problem with these burning out? presently NONE of them are working, but I don't know how many are IN there. And then, after we get it "open", what are part num of bulbs, snd sources?
thx,

The wiring connection is under the top piece of trim where your rear dome light is also connected. I wouldn't try to replace the LEDS individually but you should buy the whole unit which is about $30 on ebay. i would check the voltage when you brake at the wiring harness, to make sure you even get power to the unit before you do anything else.

The car is 16 miles from me, but I do see it quite often, and will see it in a few hours; gotta confess it's a 1996, if that makes any difference; I do NOT think it's an S-10; it's large; she has kept it in "like new" condition in spite of well over 100,000 miles [119,000?].
So I'm imagining I'll see "screws" for it's removal? sure don't wanna get INTO the headliner..........
Suspicious; ALL the LED's are "out" in that 3rd brake light, and the "regular" brake lights DO WORK........... so separate harness gets my attention, IF I CAN FIND IT......
To describe THIS vehicle to you more accurately [WHICH Blazer it is] tell me what key features would help ya'll to know what she has].... Its 4 door......... has two piece "hatch"; top part goes up, lower part goes down.... Is there a chrome "model name" on it somewhere? [besides "Blazer"?]
So is the 1996 3rd Brake Light same as 1998? or did I mislead you?
thx

[edit one; My thinking is so messed up on the model year 1996/1998, I'll look at her registration today and state it CORRECTLY, once and for all]
And as I was shopping around from your suggested "starting point", here, I find that some are mounted onto the "roof", some mounted on the glass; some have screws, some have bolts.
I'll look at it this afternoon, and perhaps a photo.......... where does it explain how to do a photo? or do I need to post it separately, as in photobucket, etc?
thx,
LarryR
