today on the way home from work my truck started making a bad noise then on the way home the battery light came on. the volt gauge was below 14 but not quite to the red so I kept driving it made it home and the volt gauge never went lower but the lights were dim can the alt be rebuilt

 

They can be rebuilt by a shop that does that.. but Unless you are going to upgrade the internals, might as well just get a reman/new one.

 

Go to a pick n pull and get one. Most of them have cross references but I doubt you will have a problem finding an s10.
