Default Auto Locking

Just a quick little random question I have purely out of curiosity. Did any 2nd gen Blazers, or I suppose Bravadas or Jimmys, come with auto locking doors? I know my 1998 Blazer doesn't have them, I was just curious if any newer years had them or not.

Little bit of a necro post, but my 1993 Blazer Tahoe has auto locks and power windows.

I think you are confusing auto locks with power locks. glossyblack. Auto locks means they automatically lock.

Programable automatic power door locks were available as an option on 2001 & 2002 model years. Not sure about 2003, but 2004 and newer, if it has power door locks, they are programable, (standard equipment).

My manual says that I can program my doors to lock when over 15mph and unlock when I remove the key from the ignition.

I followed the steps in the manual and i'm still lost. It's not very clear...

Can anybody help out??

This is straight from the owners manual. These are the default settings from the factory:

"If your vehicle has an automatic transmission it will be

programmed to have all the doors lock automatically

when the shift lever is moved out of PARK (P). All the

doors will unlock when the shift lever is moved back

into PARK (P).

On a vehicle with a manual transmission, all doors will

lock when the vehicle speed is greater than 15 mph

(24 km/h). The doors will unlock when the key is

removed from the ignition."

Immediately following, it explains the options, and how to set them.

My manual doesn't specify which transmission. It just says that it can be programmed to lock after 2 secs over 15mph and unlock after put in Park. But it doesn't say how to program it. Goes into pulling arms towards you and switch to RUN 2 times to get into the programming mode.

I'm thinking somebody messed with it. Is there a way to go back to the default settings?

newguy, does your vehicle have an aftermarket security system, remote start, or add-on door locks?

Bagherra, I can't find anything that explains how to revert back to default. Maybe someone will chime in with an answer to that.
