Default automatic headlights stopped working

so last night i went out to warm up the blazer (2001 s10 4x4 auto) and my running lights and headlights didn't come on like they usually do, i don't want to just start replacing relays etc.. w/o trying to figure it out first. If the sensor on the dash was bad would'nt they stay on . Oh well just a thought. thanks

Try covering up the sensor on the dash for a minute or so then the lights should come on if it is working.

having same issue, what's the e brake? emergency brake? what if it has been disconnected? my auto lights do not come on but dash lights do when i start it up. but if i turn on the headlights the dash lights all go out and the headlights work, high and low. what do you think?
