Big 3 Upgrade: I've searched, but...
Ok, I searched a little bit. I'm looking for wire lengths and eye sizes, if anybody happened to measure them when doing the upgrade. :icon_flowers:

Sorry, can't help you there man. I just pulled whatever fit out of my scrap box. I used to be an automotive electronics installer so I have a big box of spare wire lengths and a whole bin full of ends. If you happened to be coming through Edmonton I'd let you help yourself to whatever I have.

I have a heap of welding cable and the crimp on ends at work, but the crimper we use is about 250 lbs, and bolted to the bench. Kinda tricky to get home. No big deal, if someone had them, I could have just made them up and bolted it together this weekend. I'll post up what I use after I git'r done.

When I worded 6' from a supplier, they sent me 7' by accident (it was longer than I am tall, and I'm 6'5" haha) no complaints though :-P
Long story short, I cut it to 2, 2' lengths, and 1, 3' length, and had plenty of slack to run everything without binding the wires during engine flex. I couldn't help you with the eyelets however, since i used some copper plumbing pipe, flattened one end, drilled the eye, and soldered them on. Held up great now for almost 2 years. |
Thanks Kerby!

No problem man!

I love the idea of using plumbing copper and solder to make lugs from! Homebrew rocks!!

Hell yeah! Hahah. If I can make it instead of buy it, and its the exact same thing, why not right?
And those are interesting Diaita, but that's actually the same gauge wire mine had on it from factory. I beefed those babies up to 0-1awg |
It tells us what the terminal sizes are, and wire lengths(these are for a '96). I think I'm just going to make complete cable assemblies to swap in, with 1/0 welding cable in the high current sections.
