Default Blazer won't start.

I'm having some trouble with my 2000 Blazer. The starter just quit on it all of a sudden. I started it one day and moved it 100 feet and then the next day it wouldn't start. No slow cranking, no death rattle, nothing. The dashboard, stereo and headlights all come on, but no starter. I tried jumping the purple wire in the harness to the battery. I got no starter, but I heard the blower motor come on. Then I tried putting a meter from the purple wire to a ground and hitting the ignition. No power coming through. It seems like the purple wire is dead from both ends. I checked fuses and relays under the hood - nothing's blown and I hear a relay click when I try the key. The car has never stalled while running and has never had trouble starting before.
Our '95 S10 had a similar problem. It would refuse to start at random times and then would start again later, like when the tow truck was already there. I replaced the ignition and neutral switches but it still had problems. I think there was a loose wire under the dash.
Any hot tips on what to check and how? I hate to throw some switches at THIS one and not have it work.

if you can find the signal wire coming out of the ignition switch see if that has power when the key is turned. we just had a 03 trailblazer in the shop the other day for the same issue, ended up being some after market alarm that was hacked into the truck, starter worked, power coming from the key just something was not allowing it to leave the cab.

some of these vehicles have antitheft systems that go haywire. also if you have a chipped key, try a differnt key and see if that will work

What color wire am I looking for? Purple again? Also, the car has a factory alarm system. I pulled out the fuse for the door locks, which I think also goes to the alarm. This was several months ago, but I'm wondering if it just now decided that was unacceptable. Could replacing the fuse and retraining the alarm help?

Found the problem! The ground wire between the solenoid and the body of the starter was broken.
