I ordered another control module on eBay that has a good return policy. See if that does the trick. JM

 

I will look for a wiring schematic of the female plug the controller attaches to and check to see if is getting power.

For anyone that may access this thread here is a link I found on removing the front bezel to access the HVAC. If you dash has been in the sun a lot over the years it can be quit brittle. I recommend putting some tape on the top portion in order to give it some addition integrity prior to pulling it away from the dash.
