checking the mileage on a junkyard cluster

I don't know if there would be a way to do what you are asking, but I do know that when a dash cluster is replaced at teh dealership, and they order a replacement cluster, they have to tell them what mileage number to plug in to match teh existing one being removed. My new cluster picked up right at the same mileage number as my old one. So maybe you can get one from the salvage yard, and have it set to match your existing? Not sure how they even do this exactly, but only know that zit's possible.
