Clicking Noise

Clicking Noise
Hello everyone, I recently purchased my first Chevrolet Blazer and thus far other than the owner I bought it from not taking care of it, it's been a really good little truck.
I have a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer LS 2 door 2 wheel drive. When driving the truck or just idleing with the transmission in park you can hear a clicking noise from the passenger front kick panel, (same clicking noise you get when using the turn signal). When you apply the brake pedal the noise stops unless you have the turn signal on. I've called a couple of different garages and the dealership and they had me try the brakes and blinker together which the tail lights all work fine. With brakes applied blinker work fine. Some times the clicking noise will go away on its own but it's there more than it's not. Any ideas on what this might be?

I have had the same thing happening on mine for over 250,000 miles and things are running fine. It is annoying

Rapidly activate and deactivate the hazards. See if that changes things. Even if it doesn't, the problem is likely your hazard switch. If the issue hasn't damaged the rest of the multifunction switch, you can replace just the hazard switch for ~$18 or so. The details are covered in the Tech Article (DIY) section. Just click on the index link in my signature below.

Thanks I'll give replacing the hazard switch a try.

I own two 98 Blazers and both were doing the same thing. I replaced the multifunction switches on both Blazers two days ago and they're working flawlessly now. Bought the switches off e-bay for $60 a piece (didn't know I could have just replaced the hazard switch), but anyway - took me 3 hours for the first one, 2 hours on the second. So it's not too bad of a job. I lived with one of the Blazers clicking for years, no other known problems other than the annoying noise. Good luck on yours!
