Default Digital temp gauge

Can anyone tell me what may be wrong with my digital temp gauge not showing the temp? i have an after market stereo and i think that may be causing the problem something not hooked up?

any help would be much appreciated

haha you sound like a "mechanic", assuming right away that an aftermarket radio would cause something like that...... i can pretty much guarantee that is NOT what's causing your issues..

what vehicle are we talking about anyways?

When did it stop working?

It could be that the sensor is not connected....

its a 2000 blazer i only say that cause i know a lot of vehicles that if you remove the stock head unit crazy stuff happens lol. and it has never showed the temp. but i have only had it for a couple weeks. and the direction part of the digital display works.

you're thinking of certain year Cadillacs. On your blazer that would not be the case.

2000 blazer does not have the chime module built into radio like newer GM's so removing it and putting in aftermarket unit will not screw up anything.
The digital guage works on resistance if the guage shows a very high reading the sensor is likely unplugged or broken/melted wire, if there is no reading at all the sensor is likely faulty.
