im new here. just got a 99 blazer lt
allot of people say i have a passlock . question is i have 2 keys 1 is a rubber ended key with the chevy symbol the other is just a metal after market key and it starts the car. how is that if there is a transmitter in the key . everything is working great just wondering

its not a transmitter, passlock 1+2 is a resistor built into the lock cylinder, some passlock 2 had a resistor chip on the key, and passlock 3 uses the transmitter in the key... ours is a passlock 2 believe.
my bad, the resistor in the key was passkey... couldn't remember the name, but works in the same manner as passlock....

Yes, we have "PassLock" and there are multiple generations of the system. Prior to PassLock there was "PassKey" this system used a resistor (sometimes called a chip) in each key, there were multiple generations of this system also.
