Driver Info Center nonstandard wire pin-out & color scheme?
#1
Has anyone seen this color pin-out on the DIC before? I was told it was a working unit pulled from a 98 Blazer. I attempted to hook it up per instruction (overhead console from temp/dir. to trip) and it powers on but doesn't communicate with the vehicle. I have since hooked up another one with the standard pinout and it works fine. I would love to know if this unit is defective or just a less common unit with a different pin-out.

Colors dont matter, its just which wires go to which pins.. Go with this pin-out diagram: Driver Information Center (DIC) Connector - 2001 Chevy Venture it gives which wires do what.. starting at the far left side (looking at the end of the pins), you'll need power, ground, temp ref from the grill probe, and if it's the Trip Computer version, you'll have to run a wire from the OBDII socket, pin 9 to the very last pin(far right). Run it from the socket, up the front doorpost, across the headliner to the display, leave enough slack to be able to hang the console..
