Default Driver information center question

I hope you folks can help me. I don't own a Blazer but a Olds Bravada so i figured I would give this forum a shot as I can't find one for just Bravada's. My Driver Information Center does not work, well i does but only for a few seconds when i turn the key on. After that it just give me -- for a readout with all the avg. MPG writing still on the screen. I just bought this truck so I know nothing about them. Any Ideas? Anything would be helpful at this point Thank you!

usually that means your not getting any information from the vehicle...so you have a broken wire somewhere.
i added one of these to my blazer...you can do a direct line to the obdII scan port if you want that will give you the info for the display....or you can check all the connections and trace the wires.
there is a how to around here for adding one that tells which wires to connnect for the add on.
