Dumb mistake. Why would they put those two "alignment" tab so close together. Running at 5 amp draw and charging at 14.73 volts. Key off 1.6 amps. Sleeping .25 amps.

On the two cable to the starter there is on tab each that go into little slots in the bake light part of the solenoid.

George,
Thank you so much for the help and patience. I think it is good to go, as long as 200 mA is an expectable parasitic draw. I have learned so much in this adventure and I truly appreciate you and this forum.

Thanks again,
Karl

All your numbers are good. Thanks for following directions so well and sticking with it, it makes helping people a pleasure plus I like really weird problems. The harder it is the more fun I have. Carry on soldier.

Let me rephrase, 200ma parasitic draw is a little high so it depends on how long the truck sits between drives. If it becomes a problem, start pulling fuses again after sleep mode and we go from there. I am here if you get to that point.

I have a few minutes this morning to give you some more thoughts. The GM spec for parasitic draw for our trucks is reserve capacity/4 which is around 25ma. Most guidelines fall within 20 - 120ma for a target when trying to solve this issue. Its a matter of reserve capacity vs time idle so a daily driver has a different issue vs an airport truck. Make sure that you are really at complete shutdown before measuring which can take 15 minutes. If you want to try and get your parasitic draw below say 100ma then its back to pulling fuses and sub system measurements until its found. Depending on your situation and after all this work you may or may not be in the mood for more of this right now. I'll be glad to help if you decide this needs your attention.

I checked it this morning after sitting all night it was down to about 100mA. I think that is good enough for now ; )

Thanx again,
Karl

If it was my truck I'd go golfing or fishing now.
