Default gauge cluster question

I have a 99 blazer 4 door i'm fixing up and it had an issue with the airbag sensor which i have now replaced and is working. But i am wondering, i picked up a good cluster at the local yard out of a 2000, but when installed the airbag light will not go off. So does anyone know the difference between the 2 years? The light will go off with the original cluster.

Rather than guess at the problem, get the airbag system scanned by a compatible scan tool and report the code back here.

Clusters sometimes need some programming to become friends with the BCM & PCM, especially if there are differences in the clusters.

I'm not guessing, i have an OTC Genesis scanner and it says everything is ok. So something must be different in the 2 years of clusters.
