Not sure if this is the right place to post this but im gonna give it a try. today while driving my gauge cluster completely stopped working. none of the guages work at all. when i have the switch up for the interior lights my door chime comes on.. the truck is a 95. if anyone knows what the problem may be id love for some info.

check fuses. sound systems can blow fuses that have nothing to do with radios.

if that doesn't do anything let us know and i can rack my brain some

 

Could be the early signs of an ignition switch failure.

 

mtopper, thanks. I honestly didnt even think about that. and yup, sure enough it was the fuse.

 

so after finding it it was the fuse i changed it. now all they do is blow within 15 minutes of being replaced. i even put a 30 amp fuse there and that blew. im guessing theres a ground issue somewhere??

 

did you tap into anything while installing your system?

 

do yourself and your truck a favor and don't put bigger fuses in when you're popping the correct sizes.

 

trust me i know this. this was just to see how much gas i had to see how far i could get. it wasnt in there any longer then 5 minutes really.

 

nope, never. but now the truck is completely dead. while driving home today somethin happened to where the radio and amp had no power. it wouldnt shift at all. i couldnt get the rpms passed 2grand. if i did it would bawg out. that all happened till it finally died 10 minutes away from home. i had it jump started, got right in front of my driveway and it died again. it seemed as if i was runnin off of battery power only. so tomorrow is going to consist of an alt test and any other testing for the elec i can think.

 

you could have easily fried your alternator. i did that to my old sunbird. it was a pain. upgrade instead of replace
