headlight adjustment screws

I readjusted mine last night from all the messing i did fixing my lights. Whatta pain it was. previous owner stripped the screws. I managed to get adjusted though.

if ya ever have that problem again, get the toggle bolts, never will look back again.

So I believe my headlights are pointed skyward and I was attempting to fix this by just turning the vertical adjustment screws tonight but once it got to a point I was happy the hood wouldnt close because the headlight adjustment part was sticking so far out. What could be the issue? Do you think the headlights arent seated properly? There was a lightning storm brewing so I decided to head inside.

Any ideas?

This thread is in reference to a first gen. Sounds like you are talking about a second gen.

I am not familiar with them. Sounds like they could not be seated properly, You can try removing the headlights completely, and putting them back in, and making sure they are seated properly, and then adjusting from there.

I am not really sure what else could cause that problem, unless you are aiming them improperly and pointing them straight down.
Can you get a photo of how your headlights are aimed from 20 feet from a wall?

I'm pretty sure the 2nd gens are known for having problems seating.
