Default headlights are dim! 1985 blazer

My low beams are extremely dim. And the high beams are dim as well but still light up as much as some low beams normally would. What might be causing this?

Is your battery staying charged? It could be a low alternator output.

Bad headlamp ground. Could be bad sockets, or a poor connection at the body. Follow the wires from the lamps. They ground to the radiator support, one on each side of the vehicle. Usually attached to a rusted out stud with a nut. Take them apart, shine them up, put them back together.

If the grounds are good, I would go back to the question below:

A new battery doesn't mean that the alternator is properly maintaining system voltage at the appropriate 13.5-14.5 volts. Low system voltage will definitely impact headlight brightness. Use a multimeter to display system voltage with the engine running.
