Default HELP! Something died in my AC?

So the other day my car interior just started smelling RANCID, I bought one of those clip on air fresheners, but that just made it worse. At first I thought it was trash, but I cleaned the car out and it still smelled! After a several hour road trip with a friend enduring the smell I realized it was the AC, and also the front windshield defogger didn't work (due to the dead thing?) smell is like old fish mixed with urine. it's so bad. How do I get this thing out or find what's causing the smell?

Yuck! You'll need to remove and disassemble the HVAC case. Same procedure as replacing the heater core. On your 2001, figure on approximately 8 hours.
