High output alternator
I am in need of a stronger alternator to run my emergency light bar. I need about a 200 amp., and have not been able to find one for my 96 Blazer. It has the 4.3 vortec. Can someone please help direct me to a place that has them. Any help would be greatly appreciated
You can use an AD244 alternator from a full-size vehicle like an Escalade, which will bolt right in and give you all the power you need. Search the forum here for AD244 (titles only) and you'll get enough info to keep you busy for a while.

I don't remember exactly what year I used (I bought a new one, rather than get one from the junkyard), but make sure it's an AD244 (should be cast into the case) and it has the same number of wires on the plug as your stock one (2 or 4).
If you search the forum, I think somebody a while back put together a pretty comprehensive list of compatible applications.

I got a 145amp one from autozone, and did the install. As well as a new tensioner pulley, and belt.and at idol, the gage still reads 14 with light bar, ac, and headlights on. I am so excited!!! Thanx to everyone who helped!!!
