Question How to Remove old Alternator from Bracket?

Hi all,

I'm replacing the old alternator on my 2001 4.3l engine. It's the original, and I'm replacing it with an OEM ACDelco gold. I've removed the belt, the 2 bolts, and the clip. I should just be able to wiggle it out, I thought, but there seems to be some unexpected resistance. It's in there tight. Maybe I'm not using enough muscle but I don't want to risk it if that's not the problem. I've almost bent a screwdriver already prying around.

I have attached photos for review for what seems to be keeping it there. Has anyone had experience with this?

Thanks for any advice,
Michael

There seem to be metal "clips" that are inserted through the bolt holes in front. It won't budge.

As ide view of where the old alternator sits and refuses to move

Update: It looks like I may need a prybar and some elbow grease. Crazy!
