Default Ignition is messed uP! :)

I can pull out the key while the car is running!
Thats not the main issue, though. I cannot turn the key to the full off position, so the car is always in accessory mode, which is pulling about 2.7 amps and draining my battery really quickly!
I've looked all over online and people have similar problems, but none with the exact same.

Do I just need to replace the ignition cylinder? Is that the same thing as an ignition switch? I saw something about replacing just the tumblers?

I'm really going for the DIY. I want to learn this stuff! Any good advice?
Big thanks in advance!

2003 6cyl 2dr 2wd

ps. Im looking for a few cheap interior parts(visor, defrost cover), any ideas?

sounds like your ignition cylinder is bad

As for interior parts, you can try Truck Parts and Truck Accessories for Chevy, GMC, Ford and Dodge Trucks from LMCTruck.com
or a u-pull it yard.

Thanks! Thats what I was thinking too...I just thought it could be possible that the wiring in the switch could be going wrong. You don't think that could be the case?

I doubt it, the wiring would not cause you to be able to pull your key out while its running, and it would also not cause a problem where you are unable to turn it to the off position.
