Ignition Module...

The 98 C1500 engine is the same as your 97 bravada.Theres noway a throttlebody would even start cause your pcm or computer wouldnt recognise that engine.I would say you have other problems other than an ignition coil or module.Another thing is a throttle body manifold will not fit on a 96 block or newer. The heads and manifold bolt pattern are completely different and wont match. The wiring harness would not match to a TBI engine either.

Okay, well I am glad that I know I dont have a throttle body cause I have been telling people I did, thats what someone told me it was... no wonder I cant get any help with it when I dont know what I've got!! Yes that is exactly how it looks Captain Hook, to the tee. But the motor that came out looked significantly different as far as the intake manifold goes, wish I had a picture. It did not have that black plastic part in the middle that reminds me of a traditional 'old style' carb.

Thank you Capn Hook for all your help and espec for straightening me out about the type of intake I have, made me feel pretty silly to be honest! I can now get the truck to run but it still has a misfire and no power, so I am taking it to get a diagnostic test done sometime soon. The wife wants to sell it (it was her vehicle primarily) but I hope to get this kink ironed out first so I can get a lil more out of it hopefully. Thanks again!

maybe not, the module is an electrical part.take it back and have them trade you out.
reset your plugs @.035, take the coil wire off at the coil,
turn it over checking for spark.
'got spark, put wire back,
turn the key on for 15 seconds with out cranking
3 or 4 times in a row
and try starting it again.
if it won't start,
check the air gap on the crank angle sensor.

The crankshaft position sensor is not adjustable. If it's disturbed in any way, the crankshaft position sensor relearn procedure is necessary. If there's a problem with the sensor, a DTC will be set.
