Default im back guys .. is there a way to reconnect my alarm pad

well hey guys i havent been on in over 3 months i thought id hop on for a question.

since ive last been on ive fixed ive fixed both ABS hub senors front left and right .. ive fixed the fuel injector and put new spark plugs .. put a new battery and alternator in.. finally the truck is good... although i think a abs sensor in the back is off ..

anyhow a few months back my truck was starting randomly and i coudlnt control it so i brought it to firestone and they snipped the wire thats next to the intake manifold ... a red wire i believe.. is there a way i can reconnect the wire to get the alarm pad on my key chain to work again?

Really depends on what that wire did... Without a LOT more specifics, we really aren't going to be able to help you much.

Was the wire they snipped stock wiring or add-on. If add-on, you will have to hunt down something for us to work with about the add-on system.

What is it that you are calling the alarm pad? Because there is nothing like that used on these trucks...

yes thats what i meant..i didnt know i had to be clear as crystal when explaining something.. but yes the key fob aka alarm pad is what im talking about.. once the oem wire was snipped the key pad stopped working obviously.. but its been a few months and i want to fix it .. im considering a alarm pad for it thru shopping best buy or something but before i consider it i thought i could fix the original

The RKE module does not directly control the starting of the truck. Also, the only wire that the RKE module has under hood is the orange power wire that runs from the underhood fuse/relay center (TBC fuse 10A) through the firewall on the driver side and to the RKE module located above the lower trim panel above the brake & accelerator pedals. You can test for +12V on the orange wire at the RKE module to see if that is still powered. The wiring for the RKE module does not run near the intake manifold... This is why I asked for clarification. What you posted did not make sense with the stock operation of the vehicle and since someone has already done a "repair" that is less than desirable, clarification was necessary.

It is hard enough to diagnose problems with the vehicle in front of you. Try doing it over the internet where you have nothing to see, touch, smell, hear, etc. When you are asking for help, you must be as descriptive as possible and try not to let your frustration with your vehicle affect the attitude you portray here...
