I have an 89 k5 5.7 tbi. It started friday morning. Drove to work did fine. Friday evening when i started it to go home it clicked like the baterry was dead but finally started up. I drove home 15 min. Got home turned it off and tried to start it right back up and all it did was click again. I put a new alternator in it 2 weeks ago and it did fine. I put a new starter in it this morning and it fired up after holding the key down for a couple seconds. Let it run for ab 10 min turned it off and it wouldnt turn back on it just clicked again. I went to have the battery and alternator tested and they both passed. Now i dnt know where to start. Any ideas?

I have a new starter and the silenoid came with it so its not the starter, alternator or battery all passed being tested.

 

Maybe a bad connection somewhere between the starter and the batt?

 

Check all your connections going to the starter,battery,altenator etc.Make sure the ground terminal didnt break off on the frame also.

 

Its just strange how it fired up right after i installed the starter, ran fine then wouldnt start back up
