Default Keyless entry & flashing lights from The netherlands

Hi all,

I all ready did a search on the forum, but I didn't got any useful info.

Since last week we drive a 99 LT 4door 4x4.
We have OEM keyless entry. I also notice that we have a alarm system (There is this "SECURITY" light flashing in the dash.) For some reason we don't see any headlights or turn signals flashing when open or closing the car with the key fob (also OEM).
When I touch the horn button on the key fob, the horn is honking and the lights are flashing...

According to a local USA specialist in The Netherlands he says nothing is programable in the Blazer...

Keep in mind that I live in The Netherlands and there is no such as a Chevrolet dealer. Officially we only have those stupid japans and korean Chevrolets in The Netherlands....

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Michael

I am not sure, but perhaps the lights dont flash when you lock or unlock the blazer... does the horn honk when you lock/unlock? I am assuming that the alarm is activated also by the same key fob, or is it a seperate one?
I have had several vehicles with the remote lock/unlock feature, they are all different!

Hi,
Only when I press the unlock button on the fob twice, the horn will honk.
When I press the horn button on the fob, my alarm will sound and all the light flash...

This all sounds normal for the Blazers imported to Europe, the security system is totally different from the US ones. Search for various posts I have made on this subject.

"Security" light on the dash doesn't mean you have an alarm system, it means you have Passlock II. If someone tries to jump your truck, the ignition will be disabled. That's it.

As for why your lights don't flash when you lock/unlock your truck, I have no idea. They do on my '02 Astro (same systems).

The horn button on the remote is the "Panic" button. That's why the lights flash and the horn honks.

I think you are having problem with the horn. Purchase a new horn from Warning Light | Code 3 | Light Bar | Strobe Light | LED Lights. I am a regular customer of this site.
